Katie is the Director of Investments at Golden Section where she leads the diligence process for all prospective investment opportunities across pre-seed, seed, series A, and credit level investment strategies. Under Katie’s management, the Golden Section investment committee evaluates more than 150 opportunities per year from a pipeline of thousands of potential deals. The Golden Section team manages $70M in assets under management and has an active portfolio of more than 25 rapidly growing software companies doing more than $140M in annual revenue.
Prior to her current role, Katie led the enterprise sales initiatives for Golden Section’s services arm which includes more than seventy software engineers and has served more than 350 B2B software companies.
Katie started her career in B2B software sales at a fast-growing hospitality-tech firm in Houston after graduating from the University of Texas with a degree in fine arts and business.
What is one thing people should know about you? I will never say no to any travel opportunity.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? My family has a famous Christmas Card and got to meet Taylor Swift because of it.
What are you most passionate about professionally? To my core I am a connector. I love meeting new people, hearing what drives them and discovering ways to better equip or help introduce them to someone or something that will help propel their idea / company forward.
What are you most passionate about personally? I am deeply involved in an International Studies and Seminary course called Perspectives. I am passionate about cross-cultural education and ministry. I absolutely love traveling the world, seeing new places, experiencing new cultures, and learning different worldviews.
What is your favorite place to travel to and why? Hong Kong. The people, the food, the fashion, the architecture.
What is your favorite way to pursue balance in your life? My favorite way to pursue balance is spending time with my family. Outside of family time, I intentionally block off time in my calendar to exercise, be outside, read, and invest in friendships.
